Lucelly is an IT Manager in healthcare and specialist in statistics. She is taking a PhD. program in technology and innovation management. Her project is developing a model to provide physicians with a better tool to establish clinical decisions in the diagnosis of Tuberculosis.  

 

Zulma Rueda MD., PhD.

Zulma is a physician with a PhD. in Epidemiology. She is also a professor at the University Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) in Medellin. She coordinates the research studies at the Escuela de Ciencias de la Salud (Facultad de Medicina y Enfermería). In 2015 she became an Adjunct Professor at the University of Manitoba. Zulma is a co-author of many publications in scientific journals as a trainee of the CIHR International Infectious Disease & Global Health Training Program at the University of Manitoba.

Zulma based her research in TB in prisons and pneumonia in immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients.

 

 

 

 

 

Lazaro Agustin Velez Giraldo, MD.

Dr. Velez is an internist with  specialty in Infectious Disease. Since 1987 he has been serving as professor of Infectious Diseases for the Department of Internal Medicine at the Universidad de Antioquia. He carries out his academic and clinical practice at the Hospital Universitario San Vicente Fundación. He had published around 100 papers, including reviews, original papers, summaries, and chapters in text books, and he has tutored 25 PhD, MSc students, fellows, Internal Medicine residents, and undergraduate students. His main interest in clinical research is related to the field of Pneumonias, both in children and adults, immunocompetent and immunosuppressed cases. In that sense, Dr. Velez is the coordinator of the research line “Pneumonias of difficult diagnosis” (Neumonías de difícil diagnóstico) within the activities of GRIPE (Grupo Investigador de Problemas en Enfermedades Infecciosas).

 

 

Jenniffer Rodiño

Microbiologist and Bioanalyst from Universidad de Antioquia. PhD student in Medical sciences at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.  My research work for my PhD. is about differential gene expression profiles in Tuberculosis in Prisons.

 

Cristian Vera

Microbiologist and Bioanalyst at the Universidad de Antioquia. Currently, he is taking a program in Epidemiology. Cristian's research interest is related to the early acquisition of Pneumocystis jirovecii in a cohort of newborn and possible epidemiological link to their mother. Additionally, Cristian works as a young researcher for Colciencias, in the research group Salud Pública of UPB in a research project that explores the profiles and cytokine patterns for prediction of latent tuberculosis in persons deprived of their liberty, in Medellin.

 

Mariluz Posadas Marin

Healthcare system informatics Management. IT Management specialist with experience in administration of informatic systems, research, and academia, in private and public sectors. Master student in Public Health with focus on infectious diseases and TB in the penitentiary setting.

 

Deny Sánchez

Deny is a nurse, she finished her studies as a Master in Public Health. Deny has been working on projects about tuberculosis in prisons since 2010, and it has given her a lot of learnings and allowed her to discover how passionate she is for research. She does enjoy every step in the research process.

Mariana Herrera Diaz

Mariana is a PhD student at the Universidad de Antioquia. My research work is related to find a cytokine profile and gene expression that can differentiate between latent and active TB infection.
